The Great MG Project

The car as it appeared when it arrived in
the garage in October of 2006

The car is just about finished! In fact, it is registered, has plates and at the time of this writting needs only a little bit of tweaking. We have run in down the road, and it is a real blast.

The photo on the right shows what the car looked like in fall of 2002 when it arrived here. The photo below shows how the car looks today.

There's been a log of work on th car. This will give you a good idea of what has been done. Briefly, the exterior has had major work. The paint is is VW Tornado Red that was mixed by our local NAPA paint jobber.

I built custom upholstry panels for the doors, footwells, and other areas of the interior. The techniques follow those outlined by Larry Lyles in Auto Restorer Magazine.

The engine is rebuilt with new bearings, rings, and other internal parts as necessary. The clutch and associated components are new. In short, everything on the car has either been rebuilt, overhauled, or given a thorough cleaning and paint.
